Video Games: More from E3

Here’s the trailer for Madworld. Be warned, it’s incredibly violent. Seriously, this is a Wii game?

Bungie was going to announce their next game today, but their publisher, Microsoft, cut them off at the knees. So enraged were Bungie employees that they knocked over a My Little Pony figure in front of the webcam. That’s how you know they mean business. After all, this is probably not what they had in mind when they left Microsoft to become an independent studio once again.

Kotaku has some hands-on impressions of Spore for the iPhone. Apparently it’s pretty much flOw. I worry a little about the tilt controls for things like that because the direction-sensing on my iPhone always feels crude. Anyone tried that monkeyball game yet?

Finally, the E3 presentation for the new Prince of Persia is up. They’re aiming for a more fluid experience than the stop-and-go die-and-restart mechanics of the previous games. The thing is, the conceit of “the Prince is recounting a tale to you” in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time covered up death so well that isn’t something it never even occured to me to complain about. Regardless, the new Prince is definitely worth a look.
