Want to Keep Your Right to Game? Don’t Vote Green Party This Time Around….
One of the Green Party’s exercises in futility candidates for President in the upcoming 2008 election, Jesse Johnson, managed to sink his foot into his mouth so deep his breath smells like kneecap. What did he say, you wonder? Try this on for size.
Not only does the candidate, while speaking at the New Jersey convention, have no idea how schools are funded in New Jersey (say this with me, Jesse…TAAAAAXXEEEESSS.) but when asked about violence and funding in relation to urban schools, managed only to croak out vague allegations about that favorite media bugaboo, violent television and video games.
I love how the Green Party is so badly out of touch with the voters that it actually still believes there’s much more than a tangental relationship between violent media and actual violence. Whole hosts of studies have already been accomplished to disprove this, and the anecdotal evidence should be of a sufficiently staggering size to be a point on its own.
Millions of people of all ages play violent video games every day, a whole lot more people than there are murderers and other violent crime committers.
Nuff said on that one, kiddies–go try some first person shooter trivia on Kwanzoo before going forth to finish the fight.
