W.B.’s Comic Con Lineup: No Love for the Boy Who Lived?

You have to give Warner Brothers credit for at least ponying up something good for Comic Con. Lots of studios don’t even bother, assuming that all the cosplaying nerds can’t possibly matter that much in the long run. But of course, they do; that guy dressed up as Link with a cardboard sword is going to go home and blog about the OMG SO AWESOME panel, and probably do a write-up for AICN, too. He matters. They all matter.

In light of this, we now have WB’s complete lineup for Comic Con:

Thursday, July 24th:

Dark Castle Presentation: Rocknrolla, Ninja Assassin, The Hills Run Red, Ferryman (comic book)
6:00pm – 7:00pm in Hall H
Expected Talent: Joel Silver (producer) and Susan Downey (producer)

* Rocknrolla: Guy Ritchie (director & writer), Chris Bridges, Jeremy Piven (tbd) additional cast tba,
* Ninja Assassin: James McTeigue (director), Ji Hoon Jung (“Rain”) and Naomie Harris
* The Hills Run Red: Sophie Monk and Tad Hildenbrink
* Ferryman: Marc Andreyko (“Ferryman” writer) and Jonathan Wayshak (“Ferryman” artist)

Friday, July 25th:

Watchmen
11:55am – 1:00pm in HALL H
Expected Talent: Zack Snyder (director) and Cast (tba)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars
4:00pm – 5:00pm in Hall H
Expected Talent: Dave Filoni (director) and Catherine Winder (producer)

Saturday, July 26th:

Terminator Salvation
1:15pm – 2:15pm in Hall H
Expected Talent: McG (director) and Cast (tba)

Sunday, July 27th:

Friday the 13th Remake
1:00pm – 1:30pm in Room 20
Expected Talent: Jared Padalecki, Derek Meaks, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form (producers)

I have no doubt that the Watchmen panel will be amazing, and I look forward to the nerd reports on AICN. If Jackie Earle “Rorschach” Haley is there, I just might wet my pants.

(I was so, so terribly frightened that they would cast a normal-looking guy in the part. But I guess since he’s masked for most of the thing, they decided to do it right and cast someone who is, in fact, ugly. Like Rorschach should be. Thank you, Zack Snyder.)

But no love for Harry Potter, huh? Maybe it’s a little too “big” for Comic Con. Maybe they just didn’t feel like it. I’m not sure of the rationale, but it makes me feel a little better for not going.

Almost.
