Week 5: NFC Notes
Last year’s Super Bowl champs are off to a perfect start.
The Giants (4-0) are off to their best start since 1990, a year they also won the Super Bowl.
The Panthers (4-1) shut out the Chiefs as they gained sole possession of first place in the South. Carolina “recorded its first shutout since a 15-0 win over St. Louis on Nov. 19, 2006.”
The Redskins won two straight divisional games on the road and quarterback Jason Campbell “has not thrown an interception this season.” Campbell has thrown 153 passes thus far. The Redskins have only one turnover so far this season.
The Cowboys nearly lost to one of the worst teams, the Bengals, in the National Football League. Cowboys’ outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware, a fourth-year player out of Troy State, has now recorded a sack in eight straight games. Ware registered 14 sacks, a career high, last year and has 38.5 so far in his short career. Running back Marion Barber was held to less than 100 yards for the second straight week. Barber has not scored a touchdown since Week 3 against Green Bay when he ran for 142 yards on 28 attempts.
