What you and I are missing at PAX ‘08

So, the Penny Arcade Expo sounds like a pretty awesome thing this year.

For starters, Jonathan Coulton did a live duet of “Still Alive” aka “The Portal Song” with Felicia Day of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. It starts at 2:00 in the video. That’s like… some kind of nerdvana. A nerdgasm, even.

Ken Levine’s keynote speech on wanting to have sex with the Scarlet Witch was well recieved, by all accounts. Joystiq has a full recording.

Harmonix has announced they’re going to put out a special PAX three-pack of downloadable content with the proceeds going to charity. The songs are Jonathan Coulton’s Skullcrusher Mountain, MC Frontalot’s Livin’ on the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe and Darkest of the Hillside Thickets’ Shhh…. And yes, that Frontalog song is an Achewood reference.

Bethesda Softworks seems to have stolen the show with its genuine Airstream motor home all decked out to promote the post-apocalyptic Fallout 3. There’s five new gameplay videos for us plebes and a Vault survival guide.

Gotta go next year.
