Jumper is based on a novel by Steven Gould. Plans for a game and graphic novel are in place. While few details are known are about the film, it seems to follow the plot of the book, which involves a teenage boy with an absent mother who discovers his ability to teleport. However, the film’s story deviates slightly, becoming more complex. When Jumpers teleport, they leave something called a “jumpscar” behind - a sort of rift in the space-time continuum. Recognizing how dangerous an undisciplined Jumper can be, a group of Paladins, led by Samuel L. Jackson’s character, attempt to hunt and kill them.
