T.V. raisin' the dead

E.R. is bringing back Dr. Greene for their final season - in flashbacks, of course. What are some other shows that have made good use of dead characters after they've passed on the show? Buffy, Sopranos, Six Feet Under all come to mind...I think it can be a pretty interesting device, but doing it just because the actor wants to return is probably a bad idea.
