To add someone to an existing Slack conversation:

For Channels

  1. Click the channel name at the top
  2. Click the "Members" tab or "Add people" button
  3. Search for and select the person to add
  4. Click "Add"

For Direct Messages/Group Chats

  1. Click the group DM name at top
  2. Select "Add people to conversation"
  3. Choose who to add

Important: When you add someone to a conversation, they can see the entire message history. If you want to discuss something privately first, start a separate thread.
