What are the five P's of the marketing mix?

The five P's of marketing are Product, Price, Place, Promotion, and People—the core elements of any marketing strategy.
What are the five P's of the marketing mix?

The five P's of the marketing mix are the foundational elements every marketing strategy must address:

  • Product: What you're selling—features, benefits, differentiation
  • Price: Your pricing strategy and value proposition
  • Place: Where and how customers can buy (distribution channels)
  • Promotion: How you create awareness and generate demand
  • People: Your team, customers, and partners who deliver the experience

Originally four P's (Product, Price, Place, Promotion), the framework expanded to include People as services and customer experience became central to marketing. Some models add even more P's, but these five remain the core.
