What are the three main factors that determine ad quality?
The three main factors that determine ad quality are expected click-through rate (CTR), ad relevance, and landing page experience.

In Google Ads and similar platforms, three factors determine your ad quality score:
- Expected Click-Through Rate (CTR): How likely users are to click your ad based on historical performance
- Ad Relevance: How closely your ad matches the user's search intent and keywords
- Landing Page Experience: The quality, relevance, and usability of the page users land on after clicking
Higher quality scores lead to better ad positions and lower costs per click. Google rewards ads that provide good user experiences with preferential treatment in auctions, even against higher bids.
