What is an impression on LinkedIn?

A LinkedIn impression is counted each time your post or ad is displayed on someone's screen, regardless of whether they interact with it.
What is an impression on LinkedIn?

An impression on LinkedIn is counted each time your content appears on someone's screen. This includes posts in their feed, ads they're shown, or your profile appearing in search results. An impression is recorded whether or not the person actually clicks, likes, or engages with the content.

Note that LinkedIn counts unique impressions per user—if the same person sees your post multiple times (scrolling past it several times), it may only count as one impression, though this varies by content type.
